Alright, I'm going to admit. I did a parenting FAIL this Christmas.
Our kids usually read their letters to Santa to us every year so we get an idea of what they want.
Well, we didn't get them a single thing on their list BUT I'm satisfied to say they loved what they received.
They were happy and appreciative.
Another fail, I put out the gifts that were supposed to be from Santa, lol.
WHO DOES THAT?! This mom!
Obviously, I had to clean up the mess I made by writing them a letter from Santa.
This is actually part of our tradition..a letter from Santa. I use a calligraphy pen to disguise my handwriting.
In the letter, I stated that I had my elves drop off their gifts early to fix my mistake.
My son has been talking about the infamous elf on the shelf, a tradition, I haven't dared to adopt. Well, Santa states in his letter that "he just might send them their personal elf".
Setting myself up for failure again I'm sure..unless I go shopping for this thing before I forget.
On another note, I'm proud of myself for doing my Christmas shopping early this year. I started in September before I had the baby (she turns 2 months today!!).
It kept me within my budget and it kept me from overspending due to buying at the last minute. Plus, it made it easy to hide gifts since they're not looking for them around that time. Once we put up the tree I started to wrap gifts while my son was at school and the girls were napping or watching TV. Easy peasy!
I will be repeating this next year and make sure I don't put ALL of the gifts out so Santa has some work left to do.
Tell me about your Christmas fails in the comments!! (I know I can't be the ONLY one who made silly mistakes)
